Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The rooms leaving something to be desired, not a bad size, just not overly clean. Found a few stray hairs in the bathroom. And quite a few marks on the carpets in the corridors.
Its worth paying the extra and just going to a Premier Inn.

Booked a double but got a twin and they couldn't change our room ( the receptionist did however offer a complimentary drink) and their sheets aren't great (scratchy in a lot of their hotels). Well placed for Chelmsford but parking is limited and, as it's on a roundabout of a major road, that would be a problem if it was full

Perfectly located. Very affordable (if booked ahead) and very neat rooms and bathrooms! I’ll definitely visit again. I had no negative experience whatsoever!

Our times hear have been very good. The staff have been very good and very friendly 👌 and we do enjoy our breakfasts as well.

Stayed here when I went on a night out. Room was great, bed was comfy, Staff were excellent and the service was 10/10. Would definitely recommend staying here

I found this hotel centre of everywhere I wanted to go.
The staff was friendly and the hotel its self clean and comfortable.
I would definitely stay here again

As soon as you enter the rooms you smell the horrible smell it's disgusting

Walked in and was hit by a wave of heat even though it's November!
Floor doesn't look hoovered, and worst of all, PISS ON THE TOILET ROLL!

We were actually advised against staying at this Travelodge...glad we didn't listen to the advice!
Perfectly located; decently priced; clean, secure and welcoming.
Noisy and warmish as per many other reviews, but the above pro's far outweigh the cons.
Would make use of this hotel again in the future.

Room was stifling - this hotel has no air conditioned.
The staff advised guests not to evacuate during a fire alarm due to "false alarm"

Dreadful. Kids playing loud music apparently "rehearsing" something in the lobby at 11pm, other kids hanging around. Gave us the wrong room key, which scared the life out of the person in bed in that room. Then no quilt on the bed. Laundry bag still in the room and noisy in the morning.

Absolutely awful hotel, will not stay there again! Actually we didn’t actually stay in the end as the beds were so dirty!! travel lodge won’t refund the money I paid just a gesture!!! beds brown stains on mattresses, mattress protectors soiled/brown head to foot! Another bed full of hairs!!! Yuck! Where are the standards!!! unhelpful rude staff I wouldn’t even give it a 1 star!

Rooms was very very hot, and on my stay the fire alarm went off at 5am in the morning and was a false alarm this had a knock on effect for work the next day!

Staff were very rude and unprofessional from the start. The Assistant manager on Duty should not have a job there after the he and his staff treated my partner and I. I often stay in various different travelodge hotels and have never had a problem but this was shocking and have never experienced anything like it. When I asked to see the manager I was told sarcastically he was away and that he was running the hotel so can do what he likes.
I think he is lacking experience and forgets he is working in hospitality. Dosent have a clue how to talk to guests or appropriately deal with situations.

Do not stay here! The heat in the rooms is unbelievable, I have just had the misfortune of having to stay here for work. The temperature outside was 17 degrees . . . In the rooms it was 31.5!! I was due to stay for two days and booked an early train home so I didn't have to endure another night, the pitiful fan that they supply was no help either. No only this but the staff are rude and clearly hate thier jobs.
Nothing works in the room, not even the hand cleaner would operate properly.
There are 3 plug sockets to the whole room and they are spaced miles apart . . . one of which must occupy the fan that does nothing at all.
You couldn't pay me to stay in the dump again!! Avoid at all cost!
Who are these misguided people putting 5/5?? . . . Clearly deluded!
